Responsibilities While Enrolled in the GM ASEP Program

  • Perform vehicle inspections, complete maintenance, and repairs including oil changes, brake services, tire rotations and engine repairs
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment
  • Learn GM service procedures and warranty processes
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation, review history files, promote the sales of labor and parts as needed on vehicles
  • Deliver high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service
  • Perform video and/or photographic inspection on each vehicle and forward the findings to the service advisor
  • Work collaboratively with service advisors and senior technicians

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Working Conditions

This position requires working in the Service area and will be exposed to all weather conditions. This is a physically demanding position requiring a full range of motion. This position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping and being in and out of vehicles for six to eight hours per shift. The candidate will be lifting parts weighing up to 70 pounds. In this position the candidate will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
